Aimed at closing a $634 million City budget deficit, the Mayor’s Office proposes to cut $8.9 million from programs serving seniors and people with disabilities.  These cuts threaten meals, wellness checks, transportation, and specialized support for over 66,000 residents, including:

  • a $2.9 million reduction in funding for the Department of Disability and Aging Services (DAS)
  • $6 million in additional cuts to other departments serving this vulnerabe demaographic
  • suspending funding for the Dignity Fund
  • a 50% reduction in funding for Sf ReServe
The final budget will be vetted by the Board of Supervisors throughout June 2026.
