WE STOPPED AT&T and SAVED LANDLINES!
The OWL Alert of July 19 urged people to call California State Senators and exhort them to vote against AB 470, AT&T’s attempt to abandon their role as carrier of last resort for landlines.
GOOD NEWS! AB470 is DEAD!
Today, we celebrate a meaningful win for all Californians, especially our seniors and most vulnerable communities.
This is more than just a legislative win. By stopping the bill:
- Universal access to emergency and essential services is preserved.
- Rural and underserved communities are protected.
- Affordability and equity are upheld. and
- Good jobs in the telecommunications industry are protected.
