OWL: The voice of midlife and older women; San Francisco Chapter

OUR CHAPTER

The San Francisco chapter of OWL supports the priorities of national OWL and OWL California through many activities:

  • Education about and advocacy of women's issues and other human rights concerns locally, statewide, and nationally.
  • Monthly meetings with experts on financial security, health issues, empowerment of women and other relevant topics.
  • Monthly newsletter publishing opinions and information about current events and other issues particularly of interest to women. The newsletter also contains Action Alerts, information about taking action on important issues, and a calendar of local events.
  • Our new website designed to enhance community and make OWL easily accessible. It provides information about our organization and contains features also found in our newsletter, including Action Alerts and Calendar. It promotes contact with us, helps you link to other groups and sources of information, and provides an easy way to JOIN US.
  • "Women in Transition Talking," a forum where women gather to talk, share experiences and gain insights into the unique transitions that midlife and older women encounter.
  • Social activities including holiday and summer potlucks, lunches after meetings, and monthly dining out.
