"The California Disclose Act"

UPDATE 1/31/12

Subject: SB 810 Action Alert II: Senators Vargas and Padilla

We are still short of two votes to pass SB 810, the single-payer health care bill, off the floor tomorrow. The following Democrats are not in support: Senators Rubio, Wright, Vargas, Calderon, Correa and Padilla. It appears that Rubio, Wright, Calderon and Correa are unwilling to change their mind, but because of previous support, I think Vargas and Padilla can be swayed. Therefore, I ask you to make two phone calls: one to Vargas and one to Padilla. Their contact information is below. Thank you.

California DISCLOSE Act of 2012

Citizens United unleashed unlimited, anonymous corporate spending on campaigns nationwide. That's why we're sponsoring AB 1148, the California DISCLOSE Act:

• Lets voters know who really is paying for political ads — on the ads themselves.

• Political television ads will have to clearly list their three largest funders and their logos.

• Applies to all kinds of political ads, including television, radio, print advertising, and websites.

AB 1148 will change the Big Money game.
